As a very convenient place to live, residents are just a few miles from the Tucson International Airport.  The airfield is just six miles from the central business district and is served by a number of carriers.  Southwest Airlines is the largest airline in Tucson and operates non-stop flights to Albuquerque, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and San Diego while American Airlines is the second-largest, serving Dallas/Fort Worth and Chicago.  Residents of housing in Tucson are also subjected to the rich local culture, that includes several annual events, including the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, Tucson Folk Festival, Fourth Avenue Street Fair, the Tucson Rodeo, Tucson Meet Yourself, All Souls Procession Weekend, and other cultural heritage events.

With a population of about 526,000, the city of Tucson is located just 118 miles southeast of Phoenix, Arizona and is the county seat of Pima County. In 2005, Tucson ranked as the 32^nd largest city and 52^nd largest metropolitan area in the United States. Tucson includes the suburbs of Oro Valley, Marana, Sahuarita, and South Tucson. Other communities located near the city include Casas Adobes, Catalina, Catalina Foothills, Flowing Wells, Green Valley, Tanque Verde, New Pascua, Vail, and Benson. The city has gained several nicknames, some of which include “The Old Pueblo,” “Optics Valley,” and “The Sunshine Factory.”

Over the last decade, downtown Tucson has experienced a revitalization effort by city planners and the business community, with Rio Nuevo, a large retail and community center, being one of the largest projects. Several attractions located in the downtown area include Hotel Congress, the Art Deco Fox Theater, Rialto Theatre, St. Augustine Cathedral, Pima County Courthouse, and the El Charro Cafe. Other popular places in Tucson include the El Con Mall, University of Arizona, Arizona Stadium, Tuson Botanic Gardens, Reid Park Zoo, and numerous hotels and resorts established in the city.
